Reese Witherspoon has announced her June Picks! This month, Reese’s Book Club will be discussing two books: memoir, I’m Still Here and fiction title, The Guest List. Both will be read simultaneously over the course of June and July. Double the books, double the fun!
Yesterday we discussed I’m Still Here, and today we’re jumping into The Guest List, where a wedding celebration turns dark and deadly in a deliciously wicked and atmospheric thriller.
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. It’s a wedding fit for a magazine: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. As the champagne is popped and the festivities begin, resentments and petty jealousies begin to mingle with the reminiscences and well wishes. To top off, someone turns up dead. Who didn’t wish the happy couple well? And perhaps more important, why?
Reese says that The Guest List reminded her of some of her favorite Agatha Christie stories, and promises we’ll be guessing all the way to the end. We can’t wait to get lost in this mystery!
