The world is overwhelming right now for everyone, regardless of age. No matter how hard we try to protect them, kids pick up on so much of the feelings going on around them. The first day or two being home from school might have been fun, but eventually the lack of routine, structure, and distraction make it nearly impossible for both the kids and the parents. COVID-19 is an uncharted reality, but it has also encouraged us to take care of each other. We've been so excited to see so many authors doing virtual storytimes, we wanted to make a list for you! No matter how old you are, there are very few things better than someone reading you a book or creating a doodle with you.
Mo Willems is inviting you into his studio every day for his lunchtime doodle everyday at 1 PM EST. All you have to do is get together your pencils and pens and sharpies and crayons, and get ready to explore.
Oliver Jeffers will be reading a book on his Instagram every day at 2 PM EST! He'll also discuss some of the things that went into making it. In his own words-- "let's be bored together."
James Dean will be reading Pete the Cat at noon EST! He'll also be doing a drawing tutorial.
Every night, Josh Gad-- the voice of Olaf!!!-- will be doing a livestream. You can watch them live around 6 PM EST or watch them later on his Twitter or Instagram.
Penguin Kids will also be doing a storytime at 11 AM EST every day!
