Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V. E. Schwab

“V. E. Schwab does it again, drawing us into a world of magic and intrigue, and changing the world for creatures of the night forever. A little bit of historical fiction, some LGBTQ+ representation, and a whole lot of blood. This story grabs you by the throat and holds you tight until the end.”

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

“I have gifted this book several times and love keeping a copy to myself. I usually refer to it as Winnie the Pooh for adults. The hand drawn illustrations flow with the story and the heartfelt, but deeply motivating moments, drive the pages to the very end. While it is a graphic novel, don't let that fool you into thinking a different way. Be open minded to what you can learn and what you may take away from the story as well. Especially since there is another continuation coming out later this year.”

Dress Coded by Carrie Firestone

“An ever-important book encouraging young girls to not be ashamed for having a body. When faced with an unfair school dress code that led to the public shaming of one of her friends, Molly starts a podcast with her other eighth grade friends to show how unfair to girls the dress code really is. This novel encourages readers to stick up for themselves and others, and to not let others get them down. I highly recommend this book to all readers, from middle schoolers to parents.”

Dr. Stone, Vol. 1 by Boichi

“I am normally not a science nerd but a chemist friend of mine convinced me to give it a try. I loved the manga, and the anime is killin' it! The setting is modern Japan, a normal day, until a green lighten compasses the entire globe and petrifies all the humans into stone statues. Several hundred years later, one of the petrified humans awakens from his stone slumber and, thankfully, it's a high school student with an insanely high IQ level, Senku Ishigami. He decides to figure out how to revive all of humanity but, to do that, he'll need help. He painstakingly invents a revival fluid that will un-petrify people. But some of those people don't want the rest of humanity revived, only those deemed useful or worthy. Begin the power struggle and enjoy the cool impromptu science sessions with Dr. Stone”

Eruption by James Patterson and Michael Crichton

“James Patterson has never let me down before and he did it again. A volcanic eruption due any day on the big Island of Hawaii could unknowingly cause the end of all life on the planet due to a long kept top secret government project stashed on the island. One scientist and the US government team up to find a way to stop the eruption before it’s too late.”

The Fabric of Our Souls by K. M. Moronova

“If you're looking for a book that is going to hurt, look no further. This book is beautifully dark and will leave you gasping for breath at some of the scenes. The characters all have something that is deeply haunting them, and they are all in a hospital together, to heal from their physical and mental wounds. There is trauma bonding between the two main characters, and while it takes a while to get there and a lot of hurt to get there it is a happy ever after, however it is very solemn and will leave you with heart palpitations. *Check trigger warnings before reading*”

For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn

“Want a spicy romance between a spunky heroine and a demon general? Want a heartwarming romance book about people making peace with themselves and each other and fully loving each other in fully aware bliss?

This book does both and it does it WELL.

The gentlest of the spicy romances, For Whom the Belle Tolls tells the story of Lily, a former customer service worker who passes away prematurely from stage four cancer. In the afterlife, she is judged to be a good soul and awarded her own personal paradise, but one day while exploring, she wanders down into Hell and strums up a friendship with the demons assigned to guide the souls of people who in life spoke in the theater (sinners) to the various levels of Hell they have been assigned and ever wanting to be helpful(and also to cure her boredom) sets up a HELLp Desk to assist the demons in amore human and sassy manner.

Via her network of Underworld pals, she meets and falls in love with Bel, a general in Lucifer's army, who in turn loves her as fiercely as she cares for him.

Sweet and sexy, there's something for everyone in this book! 10/10, no notes.”

Mark Twain by Ron Chernow

“It would be difficult to find individuals who have not heard of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn as well as many other titles created by the likewise notable name of Mark Twain.  Samuel Clemens adopted the pen name of Mark Twain from his days as a riverboat pilot and will forever be admired for his literary genius.  There have been many biographies of this iconic author, but none compare to the masterpiece created by Ron Chernow.  Reading this fantastic book will certainly add to your appreciation of Mark Twain and surely encourage you to read and reread more of his enduring works.  A joy to read!”

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

“This is the perfect romantic summer read! It is a Brother's Best Friend/Age Gap that takes place in the Italian countryside. The yearning in their love story is palpable. It really highlights the fact that sometimes we just need throw caution to the wind, get out of our own way, and let ourselves me happy!”

Adriana—Bookseller, Bradenton, FL

Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry

“For once, I bought a pretty book without knowing anything about it and was not disappointed. This book lived up to the hype! I loved seeing the refreshing take on a female lead who was not the strongest, smartest, or bravest but showed the most determination to become formidable. This world was rich and interesting. I appreciated the unique setting and magic system, but most importantly I loved that I did not see every twist coming in this book. Six star read and I cannot wait to get the second book!”
