Are you ready? The ‘new world’ is coming September 30th.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is coming to theaters on September 30, but the movie tie-in is available now.
Since its publication in June 2011, this offbeat blend of supernatural fantasy and vintage photography has dominated the YA best-seller lists. And with a Tim Burton adaptation arriving on September 30, 2016, Miss Peregrine s Home for Peculiar Children is poised to reach a whole new audience.
When a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, he discovers the crumbling Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores the abandoned mansion, he wonders if the children who once lived here including his own grandfather were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason. And somehow, impossible though it seems, they may still be alive.
It is Jacob’s grandfather who unleashed claims of children capable of flying, extraordinary strength, and other unusual abilities lived under the protection of a werefalcon on a remote island. At 15, Jacob sets out to discover the truth behind the tales so he can put an end to the nightmares and psychotherapy that followed the brutal murder of his beloved grandfather. His travels lead him to an isolated island where he finds that the stories he’d been told turn out to be true—and he soon discovers that he has unintentionally exposed the protected “peculiar spirits” and their werefalcon guardian to a murderous hollowgast and its shape-changing human servant.
The movie brings to life Riggs’s oddities, suspenseful chases, splashes of gore, and other surreal images. Jacob survives a major storm, flying bullets, and a time loop that leaves him poised for the sequel.
